The defense was a joke. Burns and Martin looked absolutely lost. At least for the first period and a half....I couldn't bear to watch any more after they were down by 5.

I'd say hopefully this ends up as an anomaly....or a "wake up" call and the Sharks rebound big time.

But watching how fast the Knights are compared to the Sharks - even if the Sharks play "their game"....I don't see them being able to beat the Nights in this series....and if they miraculously do....ugh, I think we'll run into more of the same with any of the other teams left in the playoffs.

The Sharks looked bad yesterday. Anaheim Ducks game 3 bad.

Burns was his typical brutal self in the D Zone...he left Martin in front of the net trying to cover two men while he was skating to nowhere above the top of the circle and those two men deflected in the first goal. He then was way to soft on his man for the 2nd goal (which is normal for Burns) and his penalty cost them a 3rd goal.
This is Pittsburgh all over again and the Sharks need to wake up and get some confidence back, Lebanc is struggling trying to run the PP so if Jumbo does draw back in, you might trade his lack of speed for netter play on the PP...

Defensively, Brent Burns makes Erik Karlsson look like Zdeno Chara. It was a total joke that he won the Norris.

Quick reminder.... the Sharks beat the Flames in that ‘95 series.
Let’s hope for a bit of nostalgia.

It looked as if they thought it was going to be a “pace yourself” type of game out of the knights and the Sharks kept letting them dictate the game.
Game 2 will be low scoring, as I expect a 4 back 1 up game from the coach.
